Arrupe Scholarships
Named in honor of Fr. Pedro Arrupe, the former Superior General of the Jesuits, these scholarships reflect the Jesuit tradition of educating individuals who contribute to the greater good. The Arrupe Scholarships are highly competitive, with award amounts ranging from $12,500 per year to full tuition. These scholarships are renewable for up to four years, provided the recipient maintains the required academic standards.
Presidential Scholarships
Presidential Scholars are chosen from the top tier of LMU applicants and receive an annual award of $30,000 for four years. This prestigious scholarship also guarantees admission to LMU’s Honors Program and includes additional perks such as a paid summer research opportunity through the Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) and participation in the Presidential Scholarship Mentorship Program, offered by the Office of Career and Professional Development. While on-campus housing is guaranteed for all four years, it is not mandatory for Presidential Scholars to reside on campus.
Jesuit and Marymount High School Scholarships
In recognition of LMU’s shared values with Jesuit and Marymount secondary schools across the U.S., this scholarship is awarded to one outstanding student per high school each year. The recipient of this scholarship will receive $12,500 annually, renewable for four years, totaling $50,000. In addition to strong academic performance, the selection process takes the student’s leadership, community service, and involvement in extracurricular activities. However, it’s important to note that not every Jesuit or Marymount high school will necessarily have a scholarship recipient each year.
Jesuit Community Scholarships
Awarded by the Jesuit community at LMU, this scholarship recognizes graduates of Jesuit or other Catholic secondary schools who have demonstrated significant contributions through leadership and service. About 10 Jesuit Community Scholarships are awarded each year, with recipients receiving $10,000 annually for four years, resulting in a total award of $40,000.
LMU Achievement Awards
These awards are designed to recognize students who have demonstrated substantial academic success. The LMU Achievement Awards start at $1,000 and are renewable annually for up to four years, rewarding students based on their academic accomplishments throughout high school.
